Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ and Smart Replies Get a Major Upgrade

Alongside AI Overviews, Google is also improving Gmail’s writing tools with enhanced AI capabilities.

The Help Me Write feature, which assists users in drafting and polishing emails, is now rolling out globally for free. Users can generate emails from scratch or refine their tone with a single prompt.

Google is also introducing upgraded Suggested Replies, which go beyond traditional Smart Replies by understanding conversation context and matching the user’s writing style.

In addition, a new Proofread feature provides advanced grammar, tone, and style checks. This feature will be limited to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

Google also confirmed that next month, Help Me Write will gain deeper personalisation by pulling contextual information from other Google apps.
